The Tu + kino Festival , the first Romani film festival in the Czech Republic, was originally planned to be held as a biennial. However, after a strong positive response to the first edition in 2024, we decided to exceptionally add a one-day edition this year – on Saturday, October 11, 2025, we will meet again at the Television Institute in Brno!
This year's festival brings together the best of Roma and Traveller filmmakers from across Europe, from animations to documentaries to feature films. The festival focuses on authentic voices and original perspectives that are often missing from mainstream media.
This year we will focus on five sections

Each will offer strong works that combine not only visual and content quality, but also the courage to tell a different story.
Tu + kino will also present lesser-known films by non-Roma authors that deal with Roma culture or history with respect and a sense of context.
We deliberately avoid stereotypes and social pathos. We are not interested in “Roma themes” from the outside – but the Roma perspective from the inside. Instead of social diagnoses, we give space to real creation.
