Tukino 2026
Third year
9.10. - 11. 10. 2026
The Tukino Festival, the first Roma film festival in the Czech Republic, was originally planned as a biennial event. However, following the strong positive response to the first edition in 2024, we decided to continue.
The Tukino Roma Film Festival returns in 2026 for its third edition, once again as a three-day event. This year’s festival motto is “Film as a Tool for Understanding.” From Friday through Sunday, the festival will once again bring the best of Roma filmmaking to Brno, this time focusing on filmmakers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Tukino will also present lesser-known films by non-Roma authors that deal with Roma culture or history with respect and a sense of context.
We deliberately avoid stereotypes and social pathos. We are not interested in “Roma themes” from the outside – but the Roma perspective from the inside. Instead of social diagnoses, we give space to real creation.
Films you won't see anywhere else. Creators you want to hear.
