The Role of Brno in the Development of Romani Audiovisual Work – BRNOWOOD
Industry program

From the early works of Vera Lacková and the founding of Media Voice, to the films produced by the Museum of Romani Culture and the work and legacy of Robin Stria, all the way to Tuke.TV.
These and other activities in the development of Romani-made film are connected through the figure of director and educator Petr Kačírek.
Joining him will be Lukrecius Chang, creative producer of the short film Na férovku (2023). Through his connection to Brno, Petr Kačírek, and Martin Chlup from the Museum of Romani Culture, Chang gained his first film experience in the short action film Syn (2014), created in the unique environment
of Brno's so-called "Bronx."

Divided Lives: Stories of Desegregation
(Eepisode 1)
Directed by: Alica Sigmund Heráková, Produced by: Tuke.TV
Czech Republic, 2024, Documentary, 15 minutes
The series tells the story of the boundaries of power and responsibility, the boundaries of courage, and what parents are willing and able to do for the future of their children. It is a story about an awakening community that is claiming its rights, in a system that has decentralized to the point where no one is held accountable.
How many principals, politicians, officials, and parents are needed for Roma children to attend schools other than segregated ones? Who has the power to make that decision? And which path should be taken when every experiment is a gamble with real lives?
